The foreign in Dimitar Dimov's works is basic for his narrative strategy. It is structure-forming for his works, and not external and formal, as it has been perceived in most cases. Sustained by it are the story and the characters, as well as the narrator's point of view. Without including an opposition to the own/Bulgarian, it is a direct approach to the most crucial philosophical and psychological searches of the author. The foreign is set also as a reading strategy of Dimov's works. If the reader misses the "foreign" - if s/he depreciates or misinterprets it - that means s/he misses Dimov. Furthermore, "inwards to the foreign" suggests a reception strategy by which the receiver could "read" his/her own intrapsychic.

The subject of this article is the connection between Nikolai Raynov and Rabindranath Tagore, which so far has not been a particular object of literary study. It is based on the fact that Raynov was one of the first translators and interpreters of Tagore in Bulgarian. The attempt to outline possible „silent dialogues“ between the two related artists is part of the great East-West dialogue in the first half of the twentieth century and the perception of Eastern philosophy as a corrective to that of the West after World War One (WWI). There is also a thesis about Tagore's possible influence on Raynov's style after the First World War.

The review of Miroslav Dachev's book “Miraculous Icons of the Theotokos on Mount Athos” (Athoniada Library Series, Volume 9, 2023) is focused on the semiotic analysis of the miraculous images of the Mother of God in the Theotokos on Mount Athos. To explain the essence of the miracle, the place, time, name, and voice of the miraculous icons of the Holy Mother are examined individually. Additionally, their photographic images are included in the dialogue among all of them – one of the greatest achievements of Dachev's analysis.
